We frickin love Amy’s frozen meals, for frozen meals, they are literally the best thing since sliced bread.
Amys was started in 1987 in California by a couple who saw a gap in the market for good quality, frozen organic, gluten free food. They named the brand after their daughter “Amy” and had a focus on creating quality frozen food.
I must say, I feel like they delivered, especially in the taste department.
You can find them in the health food section of the frozen food in the supermarket or you can view and buy all of Amy’s organic foods online delivered here.
Does that mean Amy’s Frozen Food is healthy? Well, no, it is not as healthy as it could be (for example this easy Tuna, Rice, Broccoli recipe I make is healthier) HOWEVER, it is much healthier than most other frozen meals, being totally organic and low in calories (usually under 400 calories per meal) which is why it is my go-to easy meal.
Amys are a vegetarian/vegan company so you won’t find any meat product in Amys foods. We do eat meat but I haven’t found myself missing meat at all while eating Amys.
If you search for “Amy’s frozen meals reviews” you will see that 90% of people agree with me and love Amys!
Note: I don’t have any affiliation with Amys, I have just found myself buying a lot of Amys frozen dinners recently and thought I would write a review. We do receive a small commission if you decide to buy Amy’s online through our links at no extra cost to you, which we would appreciate if you intend to buy Amy’s to help keep our site running. Thank you in advance. 🙂

Best Amy’s Frozen Meals Ranked & Are Amys Frozen Meals Healthy?
1. Amy’s Vegetable Lasagna
Rating – 5/5
This is by far the best Amy’s frozen meal out there. If you haven’t tried it already you seriously have to because it is really tasty! In fact, I would go so far as saying I have not ever tasted a frozen meal as good as Amy’s Vegetable Lasagna.
Honestly, I told my husband that if I was served this meal at a restaurant, I wouldn’t even be mad, in fact I would think it was a pretty darn good lasagna. That is absolutely remarkable considering it is frozen.
Amy’s claim that organic products freeze better and this is part of their secret. It must be!
I have a feeling some other people have cottoned onto the fact that Amy’s lasagna is an absolute winner because it is often low/gone in the supermarket.
You can buy it online here which is really handy as I hate going to the supermarket and limit my visits if I can.
- Calories – 310 per serve (1 packet)
2. Amys Bowls Casserole Chile Relleno
Rating – 5/5
Our second favorite frozen meal we buy from Amys is the Amys Bowls Casserole Chile Relleno. It is really delicious and almost as good as the frozen lasagna. But not quite as good…
The photo below is of the meal frozen and it doesn’t look all that appealing but the taste is really nice so I would definitely recommend it.
You can get it delivered here.
- Calories – 400 per serve (1 packet)
3. Amys Pad Thai
Rating – 4/5
I really enjoyed Amys Pad Thai and it is definitely something I would pick up again if Amy’s Vegetable lasagna isn’t available.
The taste was good and there was a lot of vegetables in the serving which I appreciated. There was actually more vegetables in the serving than a Pad Thai I had at a Thai restaurant recently.
You can get it shipped to you here.
- Calories – 410 per serve (1 packet)
4. Amys Cheese Ravioli
Rating – 4/5
Amys Cheese Ravioli was nice and I could eat it but honestly my husband liked it a lot more than I did. If you like a strong cheese taste, like say tasty cheese, you will really like this ravioli.
I personally thought it was missing something like the spinach from the lasagne, if it wasn’t going to include a meat product.
Note: I did subsequently see this Amys meal but I have not tried it yet.
Buy it online here.
- Calories – 410 per serve (1 packet)
5. Amys Cheese Enchilada
Rating – 4/5
Amys Cheese Enchilada was really tasty. I would totally get it again. While I’m not a vegan, all Amy’s meals are 100% Vegan so there is only cheese in this enchilada.
Being a meat eater, I would’ve thought I would miss the meat aspect, but I think in reality meat does not freeze and defrost as well as cheese.
Unlike the ravioli, I didn’t even feel like something was missing from this product.
Buy it here.

7. Amys Mushroom Risotto (the #1 low calorie option
Rating – 4/5
I honestly did not think I would like Amys Mushroom Risotto as much as I did.
It was seriously tasty. If you poured this into a bowl and served it to a guest they would not even know it was a frozen meal. And, I think you would even get compliments on your cooking LOL.
The best part about Amys Mushroom Risotto is that it is a really low calorie dinner.
You can buy it online here.
- Calories – 230 per serve
7. Amys Tortilla Casserole and Black Beans (I wouldn’t buy it again!!)
Rating – 1/5
I picked up Amys Tortilla Casserole and Black Beans meal thinking it was Amys Bowls Casserole Chile Relleno, it wasn’t and it was pretty darn ordinary.
I wouldn’t get it again. As you can see, it even looks pretty unappealing.
You can check it out here but I wouldn’t personally recommend it.

FAQ
How expensive is Amys?
Amys frozen meals are around $6 a meal. A few years ago you could get Amys on sale for as little as $3 a meal which was much more affordable.
Why is Amys so expensive?
Yes, if you compare Amy’s to something like Lean Cuisine it is expensive. BUT the meals are also made totally from organic ingredients. Organic ingredients are always more expensive and they are much healthier for you.
I would argue that Amys is still worth the $6 odd a meal. It is very convenient and takes no cook time, only 5 minutes the microwave.
Are Amys frozen meals healthy?
Yes, compared to other frozen food options on the market, Amys are a healthy frozen food as they use only organic produce (that is their big selling point), no GMOs, are vegan, gluten-free and are low in sodium.
