Mint Chocolate Whipped Body Butter Recipe (Just 3 Ingredients!)

This is one of my favorite body butters to date. Not only because it smells incredibly decadent, but it softens my skin like crazy. Dry elbows or feet? This combination of cocoa butter and coconut oil seems to work magic! So I get to smell like my favorite dessert and my skin is softer than ever? It's a definite winner for me!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa butter
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 20 - 40 drops peppermint essential oil where to buy essential oils online

Instructions

  • Add coconut oil and cocoa butter to your mixing bowl. You actually want the cocoa butter in a solid state for it to whip up, so I used a butter knife to get my cocoa butter into the mixing bowl. Alternately (and for a super smooth, clump-free body butter) you can melt the coconut oil and cocoa butter together over the stove, then cool the mixture in the fridge until they are mostly solid. I personally found this step unnecessary, but then I don't really mind a bump of cocoa butter in my body butter now and then.
  • Sprinkle about 20-40 drops of peppermint essential oil on top, depending on how strong you'd like the peppermint aroma (and cooling effect) to be. I personally used about 40 drops.
  • Every 1-2 minutes, stop the mixer and scrape the sides of the bowl. This helps mix it up nice and smooth. Mix for a total of about 8 minutes to get this body butter perfectly whipped and airy.
  • Scoop your mint chocolate whipped body butter into a jar or glass storage container. I first made this several weeks ago, have used it almost every day since, and I still have about 1/4 jar left!
